Our commitment
EEMCL is firmly committed to high safety standards. Our Health and Safety Policy and its companion Health and Safety Manual meet the legal requirements for health and safety at work. They also promote a healthy awareness of our working practices and environment, and they encourage every member of staff to take an active interest in safe working for themselves and their colleagues.
Every existing member of staff receives a copy of the policy, and every new member receives one as part of induction training. Copies are available at all offices of the company.
Who is responsible
The Directors make sure the policy and manual are implemented, and that they are reviewed and changed when required. Managers and supervisors make sure they are followed every day. Each employee works in line with the manual. Suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome, and any employee can raise them with their immediate supervisor.
Directors
Provide the finance for the Health and Safety Policy and Manual, and review health and safety requirements regularly.
Senior managers and supervisors
Implement the policy and manual, report issues that affect it or need an amendment, and work with the Directors to keep improving health and safety practice.
Employees
Work to the requirements of the policy and manual, report health and safety incidents and problems, and work with supervisors on improvements. Any employee can ask for a private meeting with the Directors if they prefer not to involve their supervisor.
Induction before work starts
We follow each client’s pre-work induction policy. Where the client recommends it, we organise induction and training for our workforce with them, so operations on site run smoothly.
Emergency health services
We ask to use the client’s on-site medical facility for our staff in an emergency, together with any medical services the client makes available to us. We also provide first aid for emergency health concerns, and we set up a formal relationship with the nearest hospital for referral cases.
Environmental management
We respect the environment. In line with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the standards set by our clients, we apply environmental impact management systems to reduce the effect of our workforce on our clients’ operations. We follow the environmental rules and regulations each client sets.
