We carry out works in strict conformity with the terms and conditions of the client’s General Services Agreement or Work Order, which sets out the scope of work with detailed drawings. If a client asks for a Method Statement for a job, we have the capability and competence to provide one.
Our operations and services are available all year round. Reporting and closing times, and emergency and overtime periods for every category of worker, are tailored to the client’s needs.
From award to handover
- Award and agreement. We work to the client’s General Services Agreement or Work Order. We share contract and manpower charges with clients and customers during the first discussion or negotiation.
- Mobilisation to site. This is the first activity after award. We mobilise labour, equipment, tools and contractor’s consumables to site. The client allocates a site at no cost for us to set up our base.
- Work under the client’s supervision. We work under the managerial supervision of the client’s key personnel as the works require, organising and supervising our skilled workers to carry out the works efficiently and effectively.
- Demobilisation. Demobilisation follows the same process as mobilisation.
Our standard site team
Site Manager
A person qualified for the job, responsible for managing the workforce and all operations on site. The Site Manager leads the project team and is the contractor’s representative on site.
Environmental and Safety Supervisor
Responsible for all environmental issues on site and for the safety of workers, plant and equipment. The supervisor advises the Site Manager, works with our Works Supervisors and with the client’s environmental and safety officers, and makes sure the right environmental and safety equipment is available and used at the right time.
Works Supervisors
Responsible to the Site Manager for planning, arranging, directing, managing and controlling the workforce. Each Works Supervisor has enough people who understand the language used in the workshop or on site, and who know the operations to be carried out.
Other workforce
The qualifications and number of workers, including supervising staff, depend on the nature of the job.
Compliance
Social security
Under the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766), our employees contribute 5.5% of their basic salary. We add 13% of each worker’s basic salary, which makes a total of 18.5% per worker under the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) scheme.
Insurance
We are aware of the risks in mining, construction and industrial support work, so we take out an accident insurance policy for each employee on site.
Tax
EEMCL is registered with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and meets all of its tax obligations.
